Inside The Numbers

It's been a rough start to the 2010 Season for the Freedom. As of tonight, their record stands at 4-11, hardly the start Manager Toby Rumfield was hoping for. But what has been the reason behind the early season struggles?

A quick glance at the season stats paints an ugly picture. Offensively, the Freedom are last in the Frontier league in runs, hits, triples, RBI, On-Base Percentage, and Batting Average. While they are second in home runs with 17, 14 of those have been solo shots.

The pitching stats don't look much better. The Freedom are ranked 9th or worse in innings pitched, runs, walks, saves, hits/runs allowed, opponents on-base percentage, opponents slugging percentage, opponents batting average, and ERA.

On defense, the Freedom have committed a league high 23 errors, which has lead to 15 unearned runs.

It's safe to say that improvement in all areas will be needed to turn this season around.
