Corked Bats?

Yep, that's it. A picture of Pete Rose's PR4192 Mizuno bat that was x-rayed and found to have cork in it. Not everything we talk about on here has to do with the Freedom I suppose, but everything has to do with baseball.
The man with the most hits in MLB history used a corked bat. How does that make you feel? Did he cheat the game? Did he cheat the fans? Here's my spin on it.
Pete Rose was not born with the arm of Roberto Clemente or the legs of Rickey Henderson. What he was born with was an unmatched work ethic and a desire to win that matches anyone in the history of the game. He did, literally, whatever it took for him to succeed. Gaylord Perry threw a ball doctored with Vaseline. Whitey Ford used to cut balls with his wedding ring. Ty Cobb used to sharpen his spikes. What do these guys all have in common? They're all in the Hall of Fame and they all wanted to win at all costs.
I don't know if you can frown at Pete Rose for a corked bat. I don't know that some of us didn't see it coming. He did the most with what he was given. Charlie Hustle is exactly what baseball is all about.
For the readers, how would you feel if you found out one of the Freedom players was corking their bat? Are they tainting the game, or just using whatever advantage they can to get to the next level?
